Different stakeholders' approach to biosimilars
Market research agency
Our client - an international research agency - asked PRM for assistance in a project aimed at gathering information about biosimilars in Poland. The client wanted to prepare an optimal business model in response to market changes and to learn about the segment's potential development scenarios after the launch of a new biosimilar in the therapeutic area, in which the company operates.
We conducted a series of in-depth interviews (IDIs) with doctors, pharmacists and hospital managers who make decisions about drug purchase. Additionally, we organized triad focus group interviews (FGIs), during which biosimilars experts shared their experience and talked about their decision process from different angles.
Thanks to qualitative research we were able to obtain detailed information about the role of biosimilars in the Polish healthcare system, to trace their entry to the market, and to gather opinions and experiences with biosimilars from different target groups. Thanks to our unique medical database - PMR Medical Panel - we were swiftly able reach the target group of experts required by our client, which saved the company time and reduced their costs.
Value for the client
Consequently, the client received comprehensive data on the specifics of the Polish biosimilars market in the therapeutic field, as well as on the expected upcoming changes in the segment. Additionally, we delivered data on refunding procedures in hospitals and legislative restrictions. Information collected during this project allowed our client to take strategic business decisions and to adjust their development model to a changing competitive environment.
