Experience PMR

Serbia

Prior to the collapse of the former Yugoslavia, Serbia had a well-developed industrial sector (when compared to other CEE countries), but the military conflict with its neighbours, the break-up of the USSR and long-standing economic sanctions all served to undermine the country’s economic potential. Today, Serbia appears to be committed to joining the EU; going as far as to actively participate in the prosecution of those suspected of committing war crimes in the 1990s. The sectors of the Serbian economy that are particularly appearling to foreign investors are: agriculture, automotive industry, aviation, construction, power, mining and information and communication technologies (ICT). Serbia has a well-developed infrastructure and its strong ties to Western European economies date back to the communist era.
