Client's need
The purpose of the projects was to estimate the population of patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma and to identify treatment models and algorithms applied to such patients by specialist doctors in Poland and in the Czech Republic. The research project was part of an international study covering several European countries.
Our deliverables
The project included two stages. The first was desk research on the population of patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma and the identification of the most important oncology centres providing treatment for this disease both in Poland and in the Czech Republic. The second stage involved interviews with dozens of oncologists dealing with this type of patients in both countries.
In the course of the project data were collected, concerning, among others, the following issues:
- Hepatocellular carcinoma epidemiology,
- Reimbursement of selected drugs,
- National guidelines and recommendations on the treatment of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma,
- Types of treatment applied in specialist hospital centres.
Value for the client
The client obtained data on the methods applied in the therapy of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma in the countries examined. Those data enabled it to assess the market scale and needs related to the treatment of this disease.
