Client's need

Our market research involved discovering the real prices paid by garages and car fleets for engine oils and other fluids used in the segment of lorries. The client was planning to use the information to optimise own price strategy in three CEE countries.

Our deliverables

PMR realised 30 face-to-face interviews with employees of garages specialising in lorry maintenance, and of companies with their own lorry fleets. We have decided to carry out face-to-face interviews to ensure that the respondents’ answers would be based directly on the data from purchase invoices, which were more detailed than if the respondents answered just based on their opinions or recollections. The research was carried out in Poland, Russia and Romania.

Value for the client

As a result of the study our client received a list of all the brands and types of oils and fluids purchased by our respondents over the previous three months, together with the information about their price and size of packaging in which they were bought.
