Research Project - retail and FMCG

Client's need

Our client wanted to find out how smokers cope with unpleasant odours, especially of cigarette smoke, which are left on hands and clothes and cause bad breath.

The aim of the project was to generate ideas for a new line of products helpful in removing those unpleasant odours.

Our deliverables

Research PMR conducted a study based on 2 mini-focus groups, each of them comprised of 4 people, and lasting about 2 hours. The key element of the project was recruiting respondents who, besides meeting strict recruitment criteria, also had to show a lot of creativity in order to provide our client with as many innovative and useful ideas as possible.

The group interviews were carried out in Warsaw by an experienced Research PMR moderator. They were simultaneously translated into English so that the clients present on site or watching the interviews streamed over the Internet were able to exchange comments instantly.

Value for the client

The study organised by Research PMR supplied our client with information on how smokers cope with the unpleasant odour of cigarette smoke in various situations at work, at home and in their free time.

Our client also received a variety of ideas for products and their packaging, which could replace the current ineffective products that fight odour of cigarettes smoke.

The information gathered during the survey will help our client decide whether to introduce such products to the Polish market, and if so, in what direction the work should proceed on the development of such products before starting mass production.
